DRAFT YR:  2019     COMBINE INVITE: YES

Player Bio: Dalton Risner was born in Branson, MO, and grew up in the tiny community of Wiggins, Colo., population 900. The town was so small that its that it did not even have a peewee football program until a few residents started one, in part so that Risner and his brothers could play. He credits his father, Mitch, with giving him a strong work ethic and a dedication to excellence form a young age. Dalton made a name for himself playing center and then right tackle for the Kansas State University Wildcats, where he logged a list of honors too long to include in its entirety here. Among the highlights include being named First-Team All-Big 12 Conference for three consecutive years, only the fourth offensive lineman in conference history to win that award. Risner was also named to several All-America teams during his time at K-State and named to no less than four First-Team All America teams as a senior. As if that is not enough, Risner is widely regarded as a model citizen off the field as well. Nobody is perfect, but it is pretty hard to find anything wrong to state about Dalton Risner

#71 dalton risner vs. west virginia (2018)

Strengths: Has the ideal strength and uses his hands well. Versatile player who can play anywhere along the offensive line, though there are some who question whether he will be an NFL tackle. Technically excellent and intelligent player with a background of facing top talent in one the country's better football conferences. Excels in both run blocking and is indeed above average as a pass blocker, especially at guard or center. Could probably start immediately for many if not most NFL teams.

Weaknesses: Some think Risner lacks the quickness and athleticism to match up as a tackle against NFL speed rushers. Will turn 24 this summer, perhaps a little older than some would like to be his NFL career. While his lateral movement and athleticism are not weaknesses, they may not be elite, especially for a tackle.

Draft Grade: 6.03

Draft Projection:  First or second round

Does He Fit?: Without a doubt, yes. The biggest question for the Rams in regards to Risner may be whether he will be available when the Rams pick at number 31 in the first round and if so whether Les Snead and Sean McVay will want to go O-line with that pick. It is unlikely Risner will be available in the third round when the Rams pick again (barring a trade).

NFL Comparison: Cody Whitehair, Chicago Bears ( K-State Alumni).
