#8 Darrell Henderson vs ucf (2018 aac championship)

Strengths: A very elusive runner that is hard to tackle with a tremendous cutback or jump cut. Notably, slippery not allowing defenders to get direct hits on him by bouncing outside or dipping inside. Great balance even after a hit, and able to spin off the tackler for additional yards after contact. Has the ability to expedite his speed even after a stop or cut. Very fast, he can get into the second level quickly and hit the home run past the secondary. Moral strength who can below pad level and be the hitter aside from getting hit.
Has a grand vision to pick up necessary short yardage when nothing is available. Good hands, very dangerous in coming out of the backfield and productive with screens. Tremendous mix match on one on one coverage with linebacker or safety.

Weaknesses: Protecting the ball, has some fumble issues, especially as a receiver. Tends to run with the ball not protected, need to switch to, and keep the ball outside of the tackler's view. Too much speed can be an issue as a runner need to more patient when running inside the guards. Henderson will need to get better as a pass protector at the next level.

Draft Grade: 5.51

Draft Projection:  2nd-3rd Round

Does He Fit?:  Yes, with all the news regarding Todd Gurley's arthritic knee, and the resigning of Malcolm Brown, Henderson can be a tremendous spark for the offense as well as a contingency plan. Not to take anything away from Brown, but Henderson tremendously has more of an upside than Brown. Henderson is a reminder of a back (Kareem Hunt) that hurt the New England Patriots week one of the 2017 NFL season openers. Excellent third-down back to help Gurley to get some rest or mix match against the defense.
