Player Bio: HIGH SCHOOL: Deion "Shaq" Calhoun prepped Restoration Academy in Pleasant Grove, AL, and would become the first player ever to receive a scholarship from an FBS school. Throughout his prep career, he played all three position on the offensive line and also would lineup as a short-yardage running back that once scored a rushing touchdown. Calhoun earned All-State First Team as a defensive lineman AISA by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, chosen by the AISA for the East-West All-Star Game as an offensive lineman, and was named All-Metro First-Team offensive lineman by the Birmingham News. Calhoun signed to play with Mississippi State after being rated the number seven offensive lineman in the state. Started three years at Mississippi St, and would All-Sec Honors.

Game Highlights

Strengths: An aggressive run blocker who fires out of his stance with a plan to clear out anything in his presence. Very mobile to follow pass rushers. Very stout and he can set anchor with power. Also takes excellent angles to reach the defenders at the second level. Light on his feet and has no issues mirroring in pass protection. Has a good change of direction skills and quickly redirects his weight. He works from a stable base in initial sets.​

Weaknesses: Despite having good power, does not sustain blocks completely, that needs more technical clarification and synchronization between his upper and lower body to be more consistent. Need to provide a much stronger punch. Needs to be more interested in consistently sealing as opposed to looking for the kill shot. Slow responding with stunts and blitzes which frequently timing is off with the switches. Will need to execute with better control of his frame oppose to trying to bully the defender.
