Player Bio: Jachai Polite prepped at Mainland High School In Daytona Beach, Florida, where he helped lead his team to an 11-2 record his senior year. His team would also reach the Class 6A Regional Finals that year. Polite also played basketball, but his passion was chasing down quarterbacks. Polite was injured his senior year only posting 10 tackles (6 solo tackles), four sacks, and one fumble recovery. However, his junior year is where he opened eyes of his talent by recording 81 tackles (43 solo tackles), 13 sacks, two forced fumbles, and seven pass deflection. His junior year would be named to the Class 6A All-State Second-Team. He would sign his intent with the University of Florida to collegiately. Polite received an invite to the 2019 NFL Combine but had a disappointing day there and his pro day siting that a bad hamstring was the cause of his poor performance.​

Strengths:  Very athletic with great size, and speed that allows him to make many tackles from behind. Has an explosive get, blowing past the tackle or tight end. A stockpile of moves, with counters, devastating spin move, or just extreme power as a bull rusher. Unique ability to get to the quarterback and great instincts to strip the ball wall making the sack. Has an elite bend while dropping hips and get around the corner with relative ease. Has the ability to contain the outside well against reverses, scrambling quarterbacks, deception plays.

Weaknesses: 
Will struggle to disengage from blockers and get pushed around by massive blockers. Only played the EDGE for two years, will need more experience at the next level. Tend to tackles very high at times and not able to handle bigger pulling linemen.

Draft Projection:  4th Round

Does He Fit?: Yes, but will need to probably add 20 pounds of build to his body, as the Rams continue to look for playmaking EDGE Rushers. Polite has an upside but could be a one year project.
