Game Highlight
#71 Ross Pierschbacher vs. USC (2016)

Strengths: Played in arguably the top football conference in the country, and has plenty of big-game experience, having started eight playoff games for the Crimson Tide. Versatile player who could step in at guard or center and play well. Rarely loses one-on-one battles up front. Has a "phone booth" mindset that NFL coaches like in an interior offensive lineman. Does not draw multiple flags for holding. Some scouts thought he was the Tide's best offensive lineman throughout the season, which is high praise when we consider he played on the same unit as offensive tackle Jonah Williams, considered one of the top tackles in the country. Pierschbacher is a smart, technically sound player who will not make stupid mistakes and will do his job.

Weaknesses: Probably the biggest knock on Perschbacher is that he has short arms for an offensive lineman. That probably means he will not be playing tackle in the NFL except in an emergency. Not athletic, and mainly could have problems with the smaller, quicker defensive lineman. Although he indeed is not afraid to mix it up with opposing players, some scouts think he lacks that extra mean streak, the nasty edge that top NFL offensive lineman often posses.

Draft Grade: 5.40

Draft Projection: 3rd -4th round

Does He Fit?:  Yes, absolutely. While he may lack the arm length and athleticism one would ideally like in an O-lineman, Pierschbacher is a smart, versatile player who will not be intimidated nor cost any games with ridiculous penalties. Also, there is an excellent chance he will be available in the third and fourth rounds, where the Rams have a total of three picks (two third rounders and a fourth-round pick). It is not a stretch at all to think Pierschbacher might be playing for the Rams this fall
