Player Bio: Tytus Howard prepped at Monroe County High School in Monroeville, AL where surprisingly he starred as a quarterback and in basketball. He was recruited to Alabama State to play tight end but would redshirt his freshman year. Howard demonstrated tremendous athleticism as he would be transitioned into a tackle. He started six games at right tackle following his redshirt season and started seven games on the rights side his sophomore year. His junior year he switched to the blind side starting the entire season at left tackle. His senior year he switched back to the starting right tackle position as he would be named SWAC (South Western Athletic Conference) all First Team. Impressively, Howard surrendered only one quarterback sack in a game throughout his entire senior year. He played against a top SEC Auburn team where you have to impress how he held his on during the game. For his efforts and great play, to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl, and was one of the 57 offensive linemen that were invited to 2019 NFL Combine. As a four-time All-American recipient, Howard was the player from the SWAC that was invited to the Combine this year.

Game film
#58 tytus howard vs Auburn (2018)

Strengths: Former quarterback displays tremendous athletic ability that shows as an offensive lineman. Has immeasurable lateral mobility and patience. Has excellent foot speed and bend with genuine posture. Tremendous wingspan that's beneficial when is beaten off the line. Plays with immeasurable effort and does not give up.

Weaknesses: At the next level, will need to get stronger for the next level, absorbs too much contact because of poor his hand usage. On film, tends to absorbs too much contact, as he gets beaten around too much by heavy-handed defenders or bull rushers. Has a soft punch and get pushed back some but hold ground. Need to improve his technique as he frequently conveys a false step from his stance. Often forced to a contingency plan when faced with speed, and becomes off balance when attempting to set anchor versus the powerful bull rushers.

Draft Grade: 5.78

Draft Projection: 6th-7th Round

Does He Fit?: Yes, potentially a two-year project who will transition into an NFL starter. A tremendous athletic lineman and with a little work will become a solid player to help boost up to a Rams offensive line. Definitely has one of the NFL's great offensive line coach in Aaron Kromer, can get the job on Howard. Many teams will be seeking to draft Howard later in the 2019 NFL Draft.
