Player Bio: Austin Jackson prepped at North Canyon High School in Phoenix, AZ. He played both offensive tackle and defensive end at North Canyon High. In his senior year, Jackson recorded 80 tackles (29 tackles for loss), four sacks, one fumble recovery, one pass deflection, one block punt, and one blocked field goal. In his junior year, he made 72 tackles (14 tackles for loss), two sacks, three forced fumbles, two blocked field goals, and one pass defender. In his sophomore year, Jackson recorded 56 tackles (12 tackles for loss), five sacks, and one blocked field goal. Names as the 2016 Prep Star All-American Dream Team, USA Today All-USA Second-Team, Max Preps All-American Second-Team, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Orange County Register Fab 15 First-Team and USA Today All-Arizona First-Team. Jackson also excelled on the track team and North Canyon High basketball team.​ Last summer, Jackson donated his matched bone marrow to his sister and is the grandson of Ex-NFL Lineman Melvin Jackson.

#73 Austin Jackson vs Iowa (2019)

Strengths: He is an outstanding athletic lineman that moves well in space. He has a perfect length and a powerful upper-body that is the ideal size for an NFL offensive lineman. He has rapid and active hands that apply a powerful punch to redirect the rush defender and sturdy and robust legs to drive. His punch is so real good he can sustain it in a 90-degree radius with excellent hand placement. He keeps a good wide-base and keeps quick feet. He is an excellent cerebral player that has excellent recognition of twist, stunts, and blitz. 

Weaknesses: He will need to develop a better anchor to prevent from getting beat by bull rusher. Definitely will benefit from getting more upper-body strength for drive blocking. He can get his pad level too high and depend on his punch to withstand at the initial point-of-attack. He typically can beat by lunging out at the defender.
