WORLDWIDE RAMS

Player Bio: Chase Claypool grew up on the wrong side of the border (British Columbia) for a football player looking for a scholarship; thanks to social media and his crazy ability to play football, he landed a scholarship in Indiana. Notre Dame gave the rising star and top-20 WR a spot in their roster.

As a freshman, he only recorded five receptions, for 81 yards (no touchdown), but shined as a special teamer with eight tackles, displaying his willingness to do what they ask him to do.

In his sophomore season, he started to get a feel for the game, starting eight of twelve games, and logging 29 rec.-402 yds.-and his first two scores.

By his junior campaign, Claypool started 12 of 13 games, racking 50 receptions for 639 yards and four touchdowns, trailing only team star Miles Boykin (and not by much).

After teammate Boykin left for the NFL in 2019, Chase had the door wide open to shine, and he stormed in. He was a team leader in every receiving stat ( 66 receptions-1,037 yards) and in scrimmage touchdowns (13, all receptions top-10 in the nation). Easy to say that he did well under the spotlight, and he should garner some right amount of early attention in the upcoming draft.

Claypool enters a loaded 2020 NFL Draft wide receiver class as an "underdog," but do not sleep on him. As a 6'4" WR, you shouldn't be able to run "that" fast, but he does, a 4.42-40 yard time proves it. Chase excels on the athletic side as well, posting a 40.5" vertical and 126.0-inch broad jump (top-10 in all three categories).

He is freaky tall, fast and athletic, runs excellent routes, and generates a crazy amount of separation with his quick cuts. Chase Claypool is a mismatch.

Sure, there are many great wide receivers with All-Pro potential, and he surely deserves, at least, the speculation, His ceiling is high enough.
