Player Bio: Devin Asiasi prepped at the legendary De La Salle High School in Concord, CA. As a 10 year old youth in pop warner, WE seen the athleticism and competitiveness early in this kid. Asiasi produced over 500 total yards and amounted for five touchdowns in a single game the first time we ever seen his talent. At De La Salle, Asiasi played tightend, quarterback, and linebacker for the Spartans along with another Polynesian Boss Tagoloa who helped De La Salle win back-to-back state titles in 2014 and 2015. He received an invite to the 2016 U.S. Army All-America Game and name as a PrepStar Magazine Top 150 Dream Team selection and considered the nation's No. 67 overall player. After being sought by almost every D-1 school, he announced he would attend the University of Michigan to further his football career. Former San Francisco 49ers head coach and University of Michigan alumni Jim Harbaugh would personally travel to California to personally recruit Asiasi while playing at De La Salle. However, after signing with Michigan, it would only last for one season as Asiasi appeared to have homesickness and decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He would end up transferring to UCLA and connect with his friend Tagoloa with then-head coach Jim Mora Jr. Per the NCAA transfer rules, Asiasi was ineligible for play and had to sit out the entire 2017 season. In 2018, UCLA hired Chip Kelley, as Asiasi would play yet for another former 49ers head coach. He played two seasons with  UCLA before announcing that he would forego his senior year. Asiasi ended his career at UCLA with 50 receptions for 771 yards and five touchdowns. At the 2020 NFL Combine, Asiasi may have increased his draft stock with an excellent 40-yard dash and field events.

#86 devin asiasi vs Utah (2019)

Strengths: A tight-end that is versatile and can play all over the offensive formations. Asiasi can set up as an interior blocker, u-back, in the slot, outside as receiver, or in the backfield as a lead blocker and as a run blocker keeps good leg drive by working his feet to move the defender. Has the ability to block a defensive end one-on-one with a solid punch, swipe the defenders outside arm and use his reach to hold him off. He has gentle soft hands that complement his excellent route running with good agility. —a dimensional player who can be called upon to run any routes from the passing tree. High concentration and not intimidated in traffic, and very productive in the middle of the field on crossing routes or attacking down the seams. He has a full-frame that can shield away defenders and catch passes outside of his frame.

Weaknesses: Had a significant weight increase, and will he be able to control his playing weight. One solid year of production, he is still adapting to the pass pro sets. He does not have tremendous explosiveness at the catch to run away from defenders. Will need to work on hand placement at the point of attack, and not allow the defender to counter and slide around. As a receiver, he needs to attack the ball and not wait on it to come to him.

Draft Grade: 6.26
