Player Bio: Ezra Cleveland came out of High School at Spanaway, Wash. as well thought of, but certainly not blue-chip recruit. He was considered a three-star athlete out of high school, and only the 107 ranked player at his position in the country. But he really came into his own at Boise State, earning first-team All-Mountain West Conference honors in 2018 and 2019.

GAME FILM
#76 EZRA CLEVELAND VS florida st (2019)

Strengths: At 6'5 tall and 318 pounds, Cleveland moves well laterally and sets quickly in pass protection. As a run-blocker, he takes good angles and can get to linebackers at the second level when needed. He plays well in space and has good reach. Played at one of the better football programs in the country at Boise State and paid well in big games, including against Florida State where he contained Janoris Robinson and Leonard Warner. A coachable player who has the right mindset for battles in the trenches. He has a large enough frame to add weight without overly losing his natural athleticism. Played left tackle in college, so you know he was considered a strong pass-blocker.

Negatives: Like a lot of very gifted college linemen, Cleveland tended to use his physical ability to dominate less-talented opponents, and can get sloppy in terms of his technique. That won't fly in the NFL where every opponent has very good to elite physical ability. Tends to play a little high and can get beaten with leverage. Tends to lean into opponents too much, and could use his hands better. While Cleveland is certainly not weak, some think he needs to add a few pounds and hit the weight room to really be a top NFL lineman.

NFL Draft Postion:  2nd -3rd round (Potential a late first-round pick in some drafts, but there is so much talent at the tackle position in the upcoming draft that he can slide a couple of rounds. That could be good news for the Rams, who need O-line help and don't have a first-round pick, barring any trade they can create.)

Draft Grade: 6.4

NFL Comparison: Mitchell Schwartz, Kansas City Chiefs.
