Player Bio: James Morgan prepped at Ashwaubenon High School in Green Bay, WI. During his final two years at Ashwaubenon High, he combined to pass for 5,964 yards and 60 touchdowns. He earned honors in 2013 and 2014 as the Fox River Classic Conference Offensive Player of the Year in both 2013 and 2014, All-FRCC First-Team, and All-State First-Team. ESPN.com and 247Sports rated Morgan as a four-star prospect his senior year. Morgan also played basketball for Ashwaubenon during his time away from football.  ​

#12 James Morgan 2019 Highlights 

Strengths: He has the prototype size for an NFL quarterback that stands tough in the pocket. He has excellent footwork, and when throwing the ball, he has excellent motion from planting his feet and transferring his weight to his plant foot and a quick release. He has the excellent arm strength and the ability to make any throws with good velocity after it is released. Deep outs, crossing routes, or even deep sideline routes, his big arm gets the ball to the target in a hurry. He goes through his progression and identifies the correct reads and places pinpoint accuracy on his throws. He has a cocky edge when making his throws with such much trajectory he threw on five interceptions his senior. He shows no discomfort from under the center or in shotgun formations.

Weaknesses: When there seems to be pressure, he tends to check out of his first read too soon and pass it to the back even before he is ready for the ball. He can get a bit antsy and on his drops and can hurry his throws either of his back foot or crosses his feet, becoming unbalanced and unable to generate power behind his throws. He can become stiff at times, does not look comfortable having to move around in the pocket to avoid sacks. He not very quick and will not be escape pressure or sacks; however, he can move enough to get the ball away.​
