Player Bio: Javelin Guidry graduated from Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, CA. Before Vista Murrieta, he attended Cedar Park high school in Texas. He played football at Cedar Park and was selected All-District 25-5A First-Team his sophomore and junior season. Guidry's senior year at Vista Murrieta, he was selected as All-Southwestern League First-Team while recording 38 tackles, six interceptions, and 31 pass deflections. Guidry also excelled as a track sprinter where not only did he win the state in the 100-meters in Texas, but doubled back his senior season to do the same in California. Guidry would break and set a new state record by running 10.13 seconds in the 100-meters. At the opening of The Opening Regional in Dallas in the spring of 2016, Guidry clocked running a 4.35 40-yard dash. ​

#28 JAVELIN GUIDRY VS Texas (2019 Valero Bowl)

Strengths: Possesses a great deal of speed who can fly down the field. Track background enables him to shield the speediest receivers. He has an excellent ability to play press coverage and the ability to react to the receiver's counter moves. Fluid hips and light feet enable him to stop and go without losing speed—good stocky built body for his shorter frame. He has the ideal fit for the slot corner position at the next level, which can show blitz and still have the capability to cover. Has quick and fast hands that can press and reduces receiver break off the line of scrimmage—pretty good tackler who can bring a little pop. Probably fit to be the ideal gunner on special teams.

Weaknesses: Guidry lacks the height as an outside defender. It appears he struggles in zone coverages. In press coverages, run step for step with the receivers but struggles to find the ball in the air. Will get targeted on a one-on-one by deep throws to bigger receivers. He will need some technical work with better covering skills.
