#23 Jonathan Taylor vs iowa (2019)

#23 jonathans taylor 2019 highlights

Strengths: He is a physical runner that displays strength and balance after contact. He can take a heavy workload and secures the ball. He has a powerful lower body that allows him to run through arm tackles. He is a tough runner who can drive the pile and often land forward after the run. A great short-yardage runner and an excellent goal-line runner.  A good downhill runner who does no dancing, but get north to south. He has a grand vision to get the linebackers to bite and get into the open space. A very patient runner allows his blocking to develop and follow the blockers to hit the correct gaps. He will sacrifice his body as a pass protector and remain square—average receiver out the backfield with gentle soft hands.

Weaknesses: He does not possess the explosiveness of running backs and acceleration to get through the second level. He does not have the second gear to run through space and gets typically caught from behind. Runs a bit high in the open field resulting in speed loss. Uses his body more than usual to catch the ball.

Draft Grade: 6.46

Draft Projection: 3rd-4th

NFL Comparison: David Montgomery
