Player Bio: Kyle Murphy Attended Attleboro High School in Attleboro, MA, where he played and lettered four years in football and basketball. He started four-years as a left tackle and earn the team Lineman of the Year Award and the Sun Chronicle All-Star Honors. He was named to the Hockomock Kelley- Reax All-Starr Team. Murphy also was the captain of the Attleboro basketball team. At Rhode Island, Murphy started at left tackle is junior and senior season and played all positions during his collegiate tenure. Murphy was named First-Team All-CAA both in his junior and senior seasons. His senior year, he also would be named as the Second-Team AP All-American honor.

​Strengths: A versatile and flexible lineman with experience at all five positions on the offensive line. A durable protector from the blindside with the ability to slide down to guard. His great arm length is a perfect fit in zone blocking skills. Very explosive off the snap allows him to maul the defender. Very aggressive and plays angry with a nasty attitude. Has the ability to reach the second level with impressive agility to reach linebackers. Very strong punch at the point of attack demolishing the defender. Adequate pass protector at tackle and able to recognize stunts. Ability to stay below pad level and have a great athletic bend. Use hands well t complement when losing leverage against the defender with downward momentum — ability to drop anchor and established ground against bull rushers. Impressive ability to pull on run plays getting after the defensive backs.

Weaknesses: Will get wide and struggles to reset him inside and will need to refine footwork. Gets too vertical out of his stance, generally blocking above the numbers. Will struggle when out on an island and get beat outside against the speedy pass rushers. At the collegiate level, able to drop anchor but at the next level will need to develop new methods against the bigger, powerful, and fast bull rushers. The level of competition in college will be tested at the next level with speed. Will need to work on the speed of his hands after defenders shed the block.
