Player Bio: Levante Bellamy prepped at Pike High School in Indianaoplis, IN. During his junior season at Pike High, he rushed for 2,360 yards and 35 touchdowns. His senior year Bellamy rushed for 937 yards and 15 touchdowns, after missing a few games nursing an injury. He was a three-star prospect rated by Rivals and Scout.com. Bellamy participated in track and was an excellent state sprinter. He earned a scholarship to play at Western Michigan as he became the schools Offensive Player of the Year during his senior campaign. In the summer of 2019, Bellamy was clocked at 4.28 in the 40-yard dash by laser.

#2 LeVante Bellamy VS SYRACUSE (2019)

Strengths: Bellamy is a very patient but rather explosive runner with the ball. He has excellent vision and will locate cutback gaps very efficiently. Bellamy is very shifty and an elusive runner whenever running the ball. He will set up his block at the line-of-scrimmage and explode through the narrowest seam. His speed is blistering and will get to the edge in a hurry. His top-end speed will get him time on the field as a change of pace back. In the open field, he will outrun just about any defender giving chase. He is a willing participant on special-teams returning kickoffs and punts.​

Weaknesses: At times he allows his bits of patience to become his worst enemy. Attempting to set up his block allows the defender to come down the line blow up the gap. He needs to blast through the hole with a great sense of urgency. Better suited if he can gain about 10-15 pounds of muscle, he can become an every-down back. Ball security was a problem in his junior year, became a better protector; however, at the next level, poised to reinvent the wheel on fumbles. Pass protecting is below-par and needs to work on that art of blocking; size may be a factor. His hands are small and have short arms, and his receiving needs work.
