Player Bio: Mykal Walker prepped at Vacaville High School in Vacaville High School. Walker was an all-around athlete at Vaca-High, where he played football, basketball and ran track. He was a running back and linebacker where he rushed for 577 yards and eight touchdowns his senior year. On defense, recorded 112 tackles and (72 solos) with recording 17 tackles against Napa High. In track, he placed in the 4x100-meters and 4x400-meters in 2014. He initially received a scholarship to Azusa-Pacific, where he was named All-Conference First-Team his freshman year. He transferred to Fresno State and received an invite to the 2020 NFL Combine.​

Strengths: He is a versatile linebacker who has played in the 3-4 and 4-3 scheme as an EDGE or ILB. Has nice long and range body with good length. Displays good solid instincts and the ability to play in space. Great recognition and that recognize plays and the ability to wait out his assignment. Will not overpursue or chase around the field. Ability to read against RPO and not bite on play-action passing. Good tackler that wraps up the majority of the time when engaged with the runner. He can drop in coverage and cloud the passing windows. 

Weaknesses: His play strength will be a concern and maybe a better value by putting on at least pounds of muscle. His physicality is lacking at the next level. Not very fluid in the hips and displays his frame is playing above pad level. Not very ineffective in shooting through gaps, and pass-rushing skills are sub-par. More than likely will need to excel on special teams to develop into a quality NFL linebacker.
