#22 scottie phillips vs arkansas (2019)

Strengths: He has a shorter back that has a nastiness and shiftiness to his frame. He has nice quick feet with explosive loose hips that allow him to evade defenders in space and take the ball the distance. He has a beautiful compact frame that is very powerful, where he will run through them and uses a nice stiff-arm to create separation. He keeps his pad level at the right height and lowers his body when needed to avoid big hits. He secures the ball very well and had minimum turnovers. He has gentle soft hands that are very reliable from the backfield. He is an average pass protector, will sacrifice his body against the rusher.

Weaknesses: His five-foot-eight frame contends him to be a bit undersized, but hey Barry Sanders was 5'8" 200-pounds. He has rather small hands and short arms. Between the tackles, he can become too wishy-washy and try to bounce everything outside of the tackle box, searching to break a run for the distance. Phillips added weight between his last too season and looked to be a tad slower. He will need to develop better blitz protections for employing himself for the blocks.

Draft Grade: 5.85

Draft Projection: 6th round - UDFA

NFL Comparison: Elijah McGuire
