#12 Steven Montez vs COLORADO ST (2019)

#12 Steven Montez CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Strengths: He has the prototypical size of an NFL quarterback to play on Sunday. At six-foot-four, he is very athletic, has excellent speed, and ability to make plays on the run. He has an NFL  caliber arm that throws lasers all over the field. He displays a quick release with a flick of the wrist. He will stand in the pocket to the very last moment and has the right presence in the mind of backside pressure. He has exceptional scrambling ability to get out of trouble and find open receivers down the field.

Weaknesses: He tends to struggle to go through his progressions when his initial read is not open. He will struggle with his accuracy, frequently releases the ball too high, or overthrows his receivers. He has quick feet but needs to work on his footwork and plants. His awareness in the pocket can be polished up a bit better and not retreat from it as opposed to stepping up into the pocket.

Draft Grade: 5.48

Draft Projection: 5th round - UDFA (priority)

NFL Comparison: Blake Bortles
