Player Bio: Trevis Gipson started his prep years at Richardson Berkner High School in his sophomore and junior years. He transferred to Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, TX, a Dallas suburb. As a three-year starter, he accommodated Cedar Hill with winning the Texas Class 6A title. He was ranked #91 of the Dallas Morning New top 100. He received a scholarship to Tulsa University and red-shirted his freshman year. Weighed only 200 pounds as a freshman, bulked up with over 60-pounds of muscle to his frame. In 2018, he led the nation with five forced fumbles. Gipson finished his career with 114 tackles (63 solos), 25.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, eight forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

#15 TREVIS GIPSON HIGHLIGHTS

Strengths: He has a tremendous wingspan allowing him to impact the edge. His first step is explosive, which gives an edge over the pass blocker. A great dip and rip move to close off the corner. Also, at times flashes good inside effective spin moves. Good tackler that tackles violently. Ability to rip away unsecured balls. Pursuance of distance tackles is insane and a sure finisher when engaged—the ability to be a fierce bull rusher.

Weaknesses: He has questionable footspeed in reflector situations and in somewhat of an obstacle and limits him in one-on-one situations. Need to develop more power in his hand for a punch to beat clever linemen. Despite a good spin move, loses leverage, and is put in situations and is taken out of the play. Tends to lose sight of the ball and will over pursuit or go past the runner. Needs to work on gap areas in short-yardage situations. A bit undersized will look to gain about ten additional pounds of muscle to his mass to sustain his anchor at the point-of-attack.

Draft Grade: 6.22

Draft Projection:3rd-5th round
