Player Bio​: Wille Gay Jr attended Starkville High School in Starkville, MS. His senior year, he was regarded as on of the top elite linebacker isn the nation. In his senior year at Starkville High, he tallied 83 tackles (nine tackles for loss), and his junior year he recorded 84 tackles (17 tackles for loss), six sacks, nine pass breakups, four interceptions and two forced fumbles. He help Starkville to win the 2015 Class 6A state title and earned All-State Second-Team honors. He played also played quarterback once rusing for 325 yards in a single game with five touchdowns. He was nominated for the 2016 Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen and was one of 15 semifinalists for the high school Butkus Award. He received and invite to play in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He also was selected to to play in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game recording seven tackles and two pass breakups.​

Strengths: He is a beast of a specimen on the field that comes from a ripped and muscular body. He has phenomenal speed and athleticism at the linebacker position with a short area burst pursue and close in on a tackle. His reads and progressions are unbelievable, as he shoots like a missile through gaps to make plays. He is an excellent tacklet that wraps up the ball carrier and brings violently takes them to the ground. He is a legitimate three-down linebacker who excels in coverage against both the running backs or tight ends. He has excellent instincts in coverages and simply make play after play on the ball. He reads the quarterback eyes well and can jump in the passing lanes to pick off the ball. Increased his stock at the 2020 NFL Combine with phenomenal times and jumps.

Weaknesses: He tends to get mixed up and lost in crowds that causes him to miss takles or over pursue the play. He can work on the areas against the run with his tackling, may be a red flag at the next level. He tends to drop beyond his drop max., and can look awkward. He has multiple suspensions that has prevented him to finish a full season as a starter, his character will be monitored by the front offices.​
