He led his team to two consecutive Michigan Division 2 State Championships in his junior and senior years. A two starter at receiver and cornerback, Thomas managed to grab 34 receptions for 903 yards and 14 touchdowns, 44 tackles, 14 pass breakups, three interceptions (one TD), and one punt kickoff return his senior year. He recorded over 800 yards receiving and touchdowns receiving, two interceptions, and three kick returns for touchdowns on defense and special teams in his junior. In 2017, Thomas was invited to the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
