#1 jA'MARR CHASE VS AUBURN (2019)

#1 JA'MARR CHASE CAEER HIGHLIGHTS

Strengths: He is a quick and phenomenal route runner, who is a technician at running routes. He has a route tree that is unlimited and eats away the defensive back cushion quickly. When on the attack, he is excellent at breaking in and out of his routes setting up a vertical threat. He uses perfect head and body fakes and plants his foot in the turf har to make timely breaks. Excellent at reading coverages and making the necessary adjustments to allow a window for his quarterback. His immense catch radius allows him to make just about any catch around his frame, and he can high point the ball. Great strong hands that allow him to snatch the ball out of the air. A very physical receiver will make himself available for the block as he seeks someone to block for extra yardage for the ball carrier.

Weaknesses: Chase elected to opt-out for his senior year stemming from the pandemic and later declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. He does not have the speed to run away from defenders consistently and become his Achilles heel at the next level. His physicality at times allows him not to make the perfect blocks he set forth out to accomplish. He tends to get to vertical when making a block allowing the defender to shove him to the side or shed. Had issues with drops, but his upside is not those before contact. He does not track the ball well, making him make difficult catches that probably are routine for most other receivers. He arms are shorter than normal and may oppose a problem making tight catches.
