Player Bio: Tyson Campbell prepped at American Heritage High School in Plantation, FL. In his senior year, he contributed to the American Heritage perfect season that clinched the FHSAA Class 5A Title. Campbell finished his prep career with 133 total tackles, six interceptions, and seven pass deflections in three seasons as a starter. He received invites to play in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and Nike’s The Opening 2017 Finals. Campbell garnered USA Today 2017 All-USA First-Team defense, U.S Army All-America Bowl’s 2018 Lockheed Martin Defensive Back of the Year Award, USA Today 2017 Florida All-USA Second-Team defense, 2017 MaxPreps Preseason Medium School All-America Second Team defense, and the 2017 Sun Sentinel Preseason Super 11. He also excelled in track, becoming the state champion in the 100-meters and 200-meters in his senior year.

#3 Tyson Campbell GAME highlights

Strengths: He has excellent speed, athletic, good size, physicality for the cornerback position. He has good fluid hips that allow him to redirect himself easily in any direction. He is a twitch defensive back who can change directions exceptionally well, and his reactions in and out of breaks are very impressive. His exceptional speed allows him to turn and go with the speediest receivers in the game. He can play press coverages and has improved on disrupting receivers' routes. He can play man and zone coverages with the ability to mirror or trail receivers. He is a fearless tackler who will come up and lay a thump from time to time.

Weaknesses: He will benefit by adding more muscle mass and weight to his frame. He struggled to make tackles in the open field by taking bad angles to the ball. He played primarily press coverages at Georgia, and his one defense will need some polishing. He will gamble with his speed and allow the receivers to eat up his cushion and remain flat-footed. He tends to get over jammy with his hands, resulting in pass interference calls at the next level. He will need to diagnose routes and plays more often and often beaten at the catch point.
