Player Bio: Zech McPhearson attended Riverdale Baptist High School in Columbia, MD. He totaled 14 interceptions and made 37 pass breakups; he gained more than 1,000 all-purpose yards while scoring 17 touchdowns, four interceptions, and garnering the Capitol Area District MVP, Maryland Pigskin All-State First Team, and Team MVP. McPhearson was the number one cornerback to be recruited out of the state of Maryland. He also excelled on the Riverdale Baptist baseball team, leading them to back-to-back National Association of Christian Athletes National Championships in 2014 and 2015. He is the son of former New England Patriots defensive back Gerrick McPhearson and a family of professional athletes.

Strengths: He is a very physical and aggressive cornerback who is strict and has a very combative philosophy and mentality. He is an excellent cerebral player who has excellent awareness from his position. He has swift feet, very fluid while backpedaling, and gets out of his breaks smoothly. He can read screenplays or leaks from out the backfield to come and make aggressive tackles. He will come up for run support and flies downhill like safety to make excellent tackles somersaulting the ball carrier. He will attack the ball at the catch point with quick hands to play on the ball.

Weaknesses: He has good techniques but is still raw in recognizing routes; his pre-snap recognition shows uncomfortable signs. He can be too overaggressive and leaving himself susceptible to double move routes.   He will try and jump routes that will get him beat for big plays. NFL quarterback will be licking their chops for him at the next level with his overaggressiveness. He tries to come down and make the big or will slip off tackles.
