Game film
#67 Cordell volson vs eastern washington (2021)

Strengths
  • He is an aggressive specimen who plays with a mean edge.
  • As a run blocker, he is a mauler who wipes out anything in front of him and play to the whistle.
  • He plays well in space in space, as she stays low to maintain his leverage.
  • He uses his hand placement well and, if getting beat, can quickly reset and sustain the block.
  • An excellent cerebral player with great recognition of stunts and blitzes, knowledge of when to help out.
  • He has excellent athleticism, as he can pull and lead out on tosses and jet sweeps.
  • As a pass protector, he can mirror speedy rushers.
  • He has an excellent slide step to protect the quarterback.
  • He keeps an excellent wide base perpendicular to his frame and sets an excellent anchor to absorb bull rusher

Weaknesses
  • His best fit is at guard, but his length will get him beat at the next level.
  • He tends to play above the pad level, causing him to lose leverage.
  • His pass protection can use more defensive tactics to prevent crafty speed rushers from beating him.
  • He does not have elite lateral movement or range and will ole' on many blocks.
  • He will need to work on short-yardage situations on his fire blocks as shorter and powerful linemen can get under him for leverage and blow up the play.

Draft Projection: 5th - 7th Round

NFL Comparison: David Yankey (Carolina Panthers)
