Player Bio: Tariq Castro-Fields attended Riverdale Baptist School, located in Upper Marlboro, MD. He helped Riverdale Baptist to the 2013 Independent Athletics Conference Championship with an 11-0 record. He garnered the USA Today All-State First Team, Washington Post All-Met first team, and the DMVelite All-Maryland honorable mention in 2015. Castro-Fields participated in Nike's The Opening Regional, where he was named the top defensive back and participated in the Crab Bowl. He also lettered in track & field as he had the fastest 4x400 time in the state of Maryland during the indoor season of his sophomore year.

Strengths

• He has excellent speed and range for an NFL cornerback.
• He has a perfect length that is intriguing with his skills in press coverages.
• He will get physical in-man coverages wedging the receivers to the sideline.
• He has sufficient ball skills with long arms that alters the quarterback passing windows.
• He has active hands that continue to deflect passes or rip at the ball
• Rarely is he caught out of his position nor allowed receivers behind down the field.
• He remains sealed to receivers who attempt quick start and stop routes and curl routes.
• When assigned at the slot, he will fly downhill fast for run support and is an effective blitzer.

Weaknesses

• He does not transition well when turning and opening up with receivers and lacks fluidity in the hips.
• He will get turned around and susceptible to double moves at the next level.
