​Player Bio: Travis Jones attended Wilbur Cross High School, located in New Haven, CT. He played as a running back, gaining 1,548 yards and 18 touchdowns, and on defense, he recorded 61 tackles and seven sacks during his senior season. He earned the 2017 CHSCA All-State First Team member, First Team Walter Camp All-Connecticut, 2016 Class LL All-State, All-SCC selection, Walter Camp All-Connecticut team, and the 2016 New Haven Register All-Area and All-State.

Strengths

• ​He has excellent size, length, and a stout build for his frame.
• Equipped with enormous upper body strength and athleticism, he clogs up run lanes against the run. 
• He will drop anchor and maintain his position, not controlled by the blockers.
• He has a nasty bull-rush and will destroy smaller blockers attempting to stall him.
• He will get low and win the leverage battle with penetration in short-yard runs or goal line.
• He is effective as a pass rusher and will blow the blocker back into the quarterback.
• He keeps his large hands and arms active, using a mighty club to knock down the blocker strike.

Weaknesses

• He is not very quick off the snap; his first step is not explosive.
• He will be tardy trying to get to the run gaps and may create cutback lanes.
• He occasionally will play above the pad level and be at a stalemate with the blocker.
• He needs to remain low to contain his leverage; if not, blockers will when the battles every time.
• He needs to create better hand placement while bull-rushing will find more effectiveness.
