Player Bio: Trent McDuffie attended St. John Bosco High School, located in Bellflower, CA. His senior year, he helped lead St. John Bosco to a 13-1 overall record with 37 tackles, three interceptions, and three fumble recoveries. He recorded 50 tackles, two interceptions, and three fumble recoveries as a junior. He was named to the USA Today's All-California Second Team, All-CIF Southern Section in 2018, and CalHiSports.com all-state Second Team. He received an invite to play in the 2016 All-American Bowl.

Strengths

• He is an athletic, polished, versatile defender with great awareness, exceptional techniques, and excellent instincts.
• He can play either at the slot or as an outside cornerback.
• He is an all-out defender who can lineup playing press coverage, off-coverage, and zone defenses.
• He displays extremely bold skills while attacking the ball. 
• He tracks the ball exceptionally in the air to defend.
• He has active and strong hands that will always rip at the ball in the offender's hand. 
• He possesses good speed, excellent feet, and the ability to recover quickly.
• He is a willing participant to come up for run support and runs the player from the other side of the field.
• He excelled very well on special teams as a punt returner and gunner on the punt team, giving him an upside over other drafted players.

Weaknesses

• He is slightly undersized that can be overpowered by the more extensive and taller receivers.
• He will need to add more strength to his body to defend against bigger receivers or tight ends.
• Veteran quarterbacks will eat him alive with aggressiveness in man coverages.
• He is susceptible to pump fakes and double moves.
• Not a lot of interception production in college
• He needs to heighten his tackling methods as he usually does use perfect form tackling mechanics when wrapping up tackles. 
• He needs to protect the ball more securely after turnovers or returns.
• His tackling skills are average, and he is inconsistent in the run support.
• He has tight hips and heavy feet, which prevents him from turning fluid and running smooth.
