​​The Los Angeles Rams claimed Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Brandon Allen from waivers today adding the third quarterback to the roster. It rumored the Rams were going to re-sign Dan Orlovsky after week one but thought twice about the situation.

Allen was a sixth-round draft choice of the Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Arkansas. The Jags were hoping to place on him on the practice squad but the Rams put a claim for him late yesterday. This may answer the question of only why nine was added to the practice squad. Rams release Johnny Mundt and the expectations they will use that for Mundt. 

Rams pick up a quarterback who can really throw the ball around the field. Not certain, but it seemed the Rams gave backup Sean Mannion a lot of playing time as if they were auditioning him for the other teams across the league. It once was rumored that he could potentially be traded, if this is part of a contingency plan, the front office played it straight.

The Rams will have to make another roster move to make room for Allen, and scrambling will begin on who will be sacrificed.
