The Rams are seeking to secure the future of their back half of the secondary after signing veteran free-agent Eric Weddle for two years.
Football analyst has projected that Abrams could be the first safety to come off the boards late in the first round or early second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Rams do not attain a second round pick this season, in the trade to Kansas City Chiefs for cornerback Marcus Peters. Expectations are the Rams are tremendously high on Abrams and can draft him with their 31st overall selection, because they do not possess a second-round selection.
