Player Bio: ​"Rock" Ya-Sin is a talented defensive back with a wrestling background where he won two titles in the State of Georgia. His wrestling experience transitioned well with him becoming a good football player with a aggressive edge. Ya-Sin transferred to Temple University after playing three seasons at FCS Presbyterian College. At Presbyterian, he played his entire freshman season, and by his junior year, he is named All-Big South with  45 tackles, five interceptions, and nine pass deflections.  As a graduate student player, he exploded onto the scene turning heads of the Owls coaching staff by demonstrating that he could play at the FBS level. He named All-American Athletic Conference first-team with 47 tackles, two interceptions, 12 pass deflections, with his best game versus the University of Buffalo. Ya-Sin made one spectacular interception on a two-point conversion returning it the distance.  A one-year starter at Temple initially projected a day three selection. After a productive senior season, Ya-Sin great play now has him projected as a late first rounder to third-round.  At the 2019 NFL Combine, Ya-Sin posted good numbers where his stock increase for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Strengths: Tremendous upside to become a lock-down man coverage corner in the NFL. Has good flexibility that allows him to be comfortable playing in tight quarters with excellent control of his body. Best fit at the next level is at an outside roleplaying press and off-man coverage. Ya-Sin has adequate recovery burst and is explosive top of the receiver routes, which allows him to drive to the football and aggressively battle for the ball. A pure cover corner that can produce immediately. Has the ability to work through potential blocker to the ball carriers. Aggressive coming up on run support and will initiate the big hit.

Weaknesses: Ya-Sin has some flaws and issues with his feet that forced him to play a little wild at the top of routes so that he will need some patience especially on vertical routes. Struggles with mirror quickness and fluidity with change of direction abilities that leaves him exposed on doubled routes. Tends to be over aggressive with hands that allows him to pull on and tug on receivers.

Does He Fit?: Yes! Rock Ya-Sin is a man coverage cornerback that has the potential of starting outside by year two. Perfect for Wade Phillips 3-4 defense, and has good size in the Rams defense. Aqib Talib can become a great teacher to help refine him at the next level.​
