A transfer from the University of Albany, earned All-American honors at North Alabama his junior year as a First-team All-Gulf South Conference, first-team D2CCA All-Super Region 2, first-team Don Hansen All-Super Region 2, first team AFCA All-American, second-team D2CCA All-American and second-team D2football.com All-American. Johnson was named the GSC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his as he led North Alabama defense with 13 tackles and intercepting a pass in the end zone just before the half. He was the fourth leading tackler for North Alabama with 50 tackles (31 solos), two tackles for loss, and six interceptions. He led the Gulf South Conference and ranked seventh in NCAA Division II in interceptions. At 6’3”, has no problem dropping into coverage as a corner, but much aggressive a safety. A text tackler and will lay the boom on any positional player. Johnson also has a track background that he displayed on the field with good closing speed, or guarding receivers on the vertical routes. Has excellent instincts and will jump routes.
