DRAFT YR:
  2019     COMBINE INVITE: NO

Player Bio: Deion Harris the Minnesota kid that has to be one of our five favorite FCS players we have followed this season. Harris is the tall cornerback that comes around now and then with the tangibles of generating dilemmas for the taller receivers. A very physical defensive back that fears no receiver, with great instincts. Harris has good speed, a definite ball hawk, with excellent ball skills in jumping routes. In 35 games, Harris had eight interceptions, 27 pass deflections, and 80 tackles. Despite an Achilles injury occured during the offseason that sidelined Harris, he returned strong to earn All-Big Sky Conference First Team. We view Harris as a phenomenal playmaker, returned three of his nine career interceptions for touchdowns. Will be a starter by year three at the next level.

Game Film
#19 Deion Harris vs. Richmond (2016)

Strengths: Tremendous upside to become a lock-down man coverage corner in the NFL. Has right size and speed with good flexibility that allows him to be comfortable playing in tight quarters with excellent control of his body. Very solid in coverage with a nonstop motor. Has excellent ball-hawking skills with great instincts that will be elite at the next level. Harris is a good tackler that will provide the necessary thump. A ruthless defender that does not give up on plays. A tough player and a very physical defensive back that does an excellent job with breaking up passes.

Weaknesses: Generally, you can find a several flaws with players, but Harris such a refine player. May benefit a bit more getting stronger. Don’t possess the elite defensive back speed, however has good enough speed and mechanics that rarely got him beat deep.

Draft Grade:  5.05

Draft Projection: 6th-7th Round

Does He Fit?: Yes! Harris is a man coverage cornerback that has the potential of starting outside by year three. Perfect for Wade Phillips 3-4 defense, and has good size in the Rams defense. At 6'3" a long corner back with good speed is a quarterback and tall receiver worst nightmare. Press coverage is a plus and flexibility that allows him to play in multiple positions. Phillips have to be licking his chops to get this kid, and if he's on the board in the 5th round, don't be surprised if the Rams pull the trigger on drafting. Another player that was snubbed from the 2019 NFL Combine.
