Player Bio: Maurice Simba was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and moved to Canada in 2012.  Simba grew up in Kinshasa, Congo, with the dreams of playing professional basketball. At the age of 18, those dreams became shattered when he tipped the scale at 375 pounds with his 6'8" frame. However, Simba's uncle had the right sport in mind and arranged for him to meet with a football coach at College Montmorency, a local junior college. When meeting the coach, Simba admitted that he found his calling in the game of football. Learning the game of football the first month was the worst time of his life,  felt uncomfortable, however, he caught on well. Simba would go on and become a 2X Quebec's University Conference All-Star and All-Canadian at the USports level. Simba received an invite to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, and the first Canadian to receive the invite. Simba represented the North team that was coached by Mike Tice who selected him as a team captain.

Strengths: Simba has a very massive, long, and rangy body with an 84" wing-span. Demonstrate a robust and powerful punch at the point of contact against the defender. Ability to seal gaps on the run plays with a powerful lower body. Great technique and form as a run blocker or pass protector. Great mechanics as a kick out pass blocker and wing-span that creates nightmares for speed pass rusher.  

Weaknesses:  Speed is his worst attribute after running a 5.99 forty. Not built for speed, however the speed of the game at the next level may impose issues. Awareness not quite there as he stumbles over own player while applying blocks. His height works against him with shorter powerful bull rushers. Extends his arm out with shorter players as his hand may engage to the face. Tends to get lost after missing

Draft Projection:  6th - 7th Round 

Does He Fit?:  Potentially, Simba size alone is a coaches and quarterback's dream. A project in the beginning but has great mechanics to be a starting tackle in the league. About two to three years before challenging for a starting position.
