Amik Robertson did participate at the 2020 NFL Combine and La Tech Pro-day was cancelled due to the Covid19. However, he had a pro-day last week with a few players and ran a 4.47 40-yard dash. Also can watch his movement on how quick he change direction with his hips and get in and out breaks. |
Strengths: He is hugely a dynamic player with ball-hawking skills that shows top-notch ball production with over 14 career interceptions (three for touchdowns) and 34 pass deflections. He is twitchy with good fluid hips and gets in and out of breaks well. He shows discipline in his coverages and has excellent vision. He can play well in all coverage and will disguise his coverage in man or zone. He is a right pressure corner and can run with the receivers all around the field. He comes downhill on run-support and can undercut the blocker and make a tackle or sufficient to get to the backfield on the blitz.
Weaknesses: He is only 5'8" and puts him at a disadvantage against the taller and physical receivers. He will have issues guarding in the red-zone with the size-disadvantage. His aggressiveness will play against him as he becomes susceptible to double moves. Not sure if he can adapt as an outside cornerback but will excellently fit in the slot.
Draft Grade: 6.25
Draft Projection: 2nd - 4th round
NFL Comparison: Tavon Young
