At DeMatha Catholic, he played running back and missed his entire senior season due to an injury. In his junior year, he rushed for 527 yards and eight touchdowns and caught 25 balls for 386 yards and four touchdowns. He was named the 2015 Washington Post All-Metro Second-Team and Honorable Mention in 2014. In his sophomore year, he rushed for 1,124 yards, 15 receptions for 312 yards, and 12 touchdowns. Despite missing his senior year, schools were still recruiting hard to land him at their respective Universities. The four-star recruit turned Alabama, Miami, Penn State, and Georgia to keep his talent at Maryland. His biggest collegiate game came in 2018 when he torched the Ohio State Buckeyes for 298 yards.
