He was a tight end at Blanchet Catholic High and earned honors being named to the 2015 All-State Second-Team. He also participated in track after qualifying at the Oregon State Championship as a discus thrower. With roots to Saint Johns University (Minnesota), he played there collegiately. After being unsatified with his position on the depth chart at tightend, the next following season he gained almost 70 pounds of weight to play offensive tackle.
