Player Bio: Zack Baun attended Brown Deer High School in Brown Deer, WI. Baun played quarterback for Brown Deer, where he passed for 3,061 yards and 27 touchdowns, and rushed for 3,923 yards and 67 touchdowns during his 22 career prep games. In Baun's senior year, the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association selected him as the Offensive Player of the Year. The dual-threat quarterback avered 167 yards per game rushing and scored 39 rushing touchdowns that season. He led his Brown Deer basketball team to a Wisconsin Division 3 State title in his junior year and named team MVP. Baun also ran track where he placed in a state in the 100 and 200 meters in his junior and senior season. Baun ran a 10.91 in the 100-meters and 21.53 in the 200-meters placing eighth in the state. Baun received a scholarship to Wisconsin and red-shirted his freshman year to only convert to the linebacker position. He injured his foot and missed the entire 2017 season but fought back and became a solid player in the Big-Ten. Zaun was a two-year starter and played in 39 collegiate games, produced 154 career tackles (99 solos), 30.5 tackles for loss, 15 career sacks, two interceptions, six pass deflections, three forced fumbles and one touchdown to his career.​

Strengths: He has excellent lateral agility who can explode with many angles to the ball. Transition well with fluid hip versatility to flow side to side and with excellent toughness. He is a  reliable stud on the field who will fight through anything against the run to get to the ball carrier. His execution is off the chart; he provides issues for the blocker to block. He uses his hands well as he slithers away. He is a cerebral player who executes with good extinct and rarely produces an error. As a pass rusher, he has a good arsenal of pass moves to go along with his speed off the end. ​

Weaknesses: Will get too over aggressive, resulting in missed tackles. He will need to develop better skills as an open-field tackler. Needs to get stronger to become a better tackler. At the next level may benefit by switching to an outside linebacker. Pass rush skills are raw, as he relies on his athleticism to beat the blocker off the edge.​ Will need to add muscle bulk to his
