#3 Elijah Molden vs oregon st (2020)

GAME PROFILE
#3 Elijah Molden highlights

Strengths: He is very athletic and a versatile cornerback who can play the slot, outside, or even at the safety position. He has remarkable football instincts as a defender with great agility and twitchy and closes well in short areas. Molden brings adhesive-styled man coverage in which he allows zero separation. He has excellent route recognition and reactions to the ball. Molden uses his hands after putting himself in good positions to get to the ball and create deflection or interceptions. He will compete at the catch point and demonstrate his physical toughness against the run. He is small in stature but will make himself very noticeable against the run with pop.

Weaknesses: He is a tweener,  a bit undersized as an outside cornerback, and somewhat undersized for an every-down safety. His undersized frame will show against the taller and physical receivers off the line and with 50/50 balls down the field. His speed is questionable, as he does not have possess elite speed, which will cause him to struggle down the field after getting beat off the line. He will play too far off the receiver allowing the short passes to protect his cushion and compensate for his lack of elite speed. He can be a bit too overaggressive that will work against him with double-moves or pump fakes.

Draft Projection: 3rd - 4th Round

NFL Comparison: Desmond King (Houston Texans)
