Player Bio: Jamin Davis attended Long County High School in Ludowici, GA. In his senior at Long County, he recorded 126 tackles (89 solos), four tackles for loss, a sack, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one block punt, and a field goal. In his junior year, Davis would post 131 tackles and 45 in the sophomore year giving him 302 career tackles. He garnered Class AAA All-State Honorable Mention by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Three-time All-Region II selection, and earning first-team honors in 2015 and 2016. He became the second player in Long County High to receive a scholarship to a Divison I school.

Strengths: He has excellent speed, high-energized aggression, flies to the football, and making plays all over the field. He can identify the run and uses his excellent speed to finesse the blocker and make the tackle. He will navigate well through traffic to find the ball and make the tackle. He brings the hammer with ferocious hits and makes perfect wrapped tackles. He pursuit wells with sideline-to-sideline speed to chase down plays from behind. He can get upfield and get to the quarterback in a hurry. He can drop in coverage with enough skill to cover speedy backs and slot receivers. He killed it at his pro day with a 4.37 40 and 42-inch vertical jump, definitely increased his stock!

Weaknesses: Despite making excellent open-field tackles, he shows some tightness and while hitting up too high. He will play too high, and when it the time to make tackles, he will duck his head, whiffing on the tackle. He does not use his hand well to fight off blocks to disengage from the blocker. He can make many tackles; he is selective on when to bring the boom. Need to work on footwork and hips to change direction smoothly to make tackles or cover the receiver, backs, or tightend.
