JOSEPH OSSAI HIGHLIGHTS

Strengths: He is a tremendous athlete with excellent speed and freakish ways on the field. He is a versatile defender that can play both outside linebackers or at the EDGE. He converted from OLB that allowed him to play in 3-4 or 4-3 defenses. He has an excellent frame with the height expected at the EDGE. He has a non-stop motor that attacks against both the run and pass. The ideal EDGE rusher needed to play against the RPO team offenses. He has a non-stop motor that never runs out of gas and will play to the whistle. He uses an arsenal of moves to get to the backfield and discover ways to beat the blocker. He will set up the blocker with outside moves and uses a tremendous rip move to get inside. He has excellent discipline with gap responsibility and allowing to become a three-down player. A sure tackler that will end most of the play that comes to his direction.

Weaknesses: His versatility caused him to lose time and reps from the defense. He would put in as an EDGE or some downs at outside linebacker. Teams that will select him will more than likely wait for him to develop as that natural 3-4 EDGE rusher or as a 4-3 outside linebacker. He needs to add more strength to his frame to shed blocks before engaging with the blocker. He has shown to over-react on play-action or misdirection run plays. He will need to add even more to his arsenal of pass rush moves at the next level as veteran tackles will contain the same two moves.

Draft Projection: 1st (Late) - 3rd Round

NFL Comparison: Takkarist McKinnely (Las Vegas Raiders)
