Player Bio: Josh Ball attended Stafford High School in Fredricksburg, VA. At Stafford High, he was the best offensive tackle in the state of Virginia. He earned an invite to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and represented Team East. He garnered the American Family Insurance Virginia All-State First Team and All-Conference 4 honors. He would sign with Florida State, where he started as a Freshman. After domestic violence charges, Florida State suspended him from the program where he played at Butler JC. He would enroll at Marshall and opted out his senior year after the pandemic hit.

​#79 Josh Ball vs Clemson (2017)

Strengths: He produces the absolute height and size for an NFL offensive tackle. His length is enormous, with long arms that he uses to retain the defender's pressure. He is explosive out the stance and can get to the second level with relative ease. A tremendous athlete who can pull smoothly to make the block for the run lanes. He has excellent agility to move laterally, hook and seal the edge. He excellent feet and recovers well when beaten by the defender to save a sack. His frame is his best weapon that will make it challenging for EDGE or outside rushers.

Weaknesses: He can use more punch and a more substantial grip when engaging with the defender. He lacks the skill of maintaining leverage while leaning forward out the stance. He will need to develop the skill to play below pad level. He will get exposed to counter moves and whiffs when attempting to overpower the rusher. At the point of attack, he needs to win the battle more than trying to recover.  He tends to get out of his stance late during pass protection.
