STRENGTHS

  • He has excellent agility and the ability to scan gap runs.
  • He has excellent acceleration to read the run and beat the blocker to the gap.
  • He has excellent range and can go sideline-to-sideline to make plays.
  • He will navigate through traffic and is patient to allow the play to develop before exploding the gap to make the tackle.
  • He is a big hitter, a thumper, always bringing the hat.
  • He is limited with his upper body strength but uses his hand swell to extend away the body of the linemen to make plays.
  • Posses good instincts and can play as a spy against the quarterback, scramble drills, and pursue to develop sacks.
  • He can cover the backs out of the backfield or tight ends down the field.

WEAKNESS

  • He needs to add more strength and will struggle at the next level against the heavier, stronger offensive lineman.
  • At the point of contact, the lineman will w him up even when he uses his hands to extend for leverage or shedding blocks.
  • He is a heavy hitter but not violent while making tackles.
  • He is a one-trick pony on the blitz and has no counter-move when picked up by the blocker.
  • He is too aggressive and will suffer when unable to chop his feet before making tackles and will miss.
  • In pass zone coverages of play action, he will stare in the backfield and, when faked, attempts to backpedal and is caught out of position.
  • He will need to focus on flipping his hips quicker to get his head around to make plays on passes completed by his reach.
Draft Projection: 5th - 6th Round

NFL Comparison: Robert Spillane (Pittsburg Steelers)
