GAME FILM
#1 KRISHON MERRIWEATHER VS HOUSTON (2022)

strengths

  • He is physically strenuous and built to defend well against the run.
  • He has sudden explosiveness and sells all out to get to the ball running through whatever to make the play.
  • He has good short-area closing speed to get to the ball carrier.
  • He is a fierce competitor when he blitz, sells all out, and makes crunching leverage contact into the blocker
  • He will make many tackles with hard hits and wrap up the runner.
  • He displays admirable lateral movement as a pass defender while scanning the zones.
  • He is disciplined against the pass, not truly biting with double moves, and can make plays on the ball in the air.

weakness

  • He timed poorly at Texas Tech Pro Day with a 4.92 that will shy away scouts.
  • His poor 40 times translates to his lack of speed, and he will need help to tackle from the backside pursuit.
  • He will need help catching the speedy backs running wide tosses and sweeps.
  • He has average size at best at a inside linebacker for the next level
  • He will not be a three-down linebacker at the next level due to his lack of speed.
