Ed "Pi Double i" HendersonWorldWide Rams The Los Angeles Rams have signed EDGE Rusher Ja'Von Rolland-Jones to the practice squad to fulfill the tenth slot. Earlier the Rams released DE Marcus Martin and LB Carlos Thompson from the IR list opening up an additional roster spot.
Rolland-Jones went undrafted from the 2018 NFL Draft but signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent. He would not survive the cuts and been waiting for a call to resume his career. The former 2016 and 2017 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year, was a four-year starter at Arkansas State. His senior season along, he recorded 56 tackles (19 tackles for loss), 13 sacks, and three forced fumbles. His junior season his numbers were just about identical with adding two extra tackles for losses and added one more tackle than his senior year. The six foot two and 253-pound Rolland-Jones have been considered undersized but is a very disruptive pass rusher. He has excellent strength and is built to play in a 3-4 scheme as a standup or down in a stance effectively. Rams placed linebacker Dominique Easley to the IR list yesterday, which they will shuffle to find his replacement. However, with the skills that Rolland-Jones posses, Wade Phillips will try to get him prepared and added to the active roster quickly. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo is eligible to come off the PUP list next week, and indeed, the Rams will be happy to see him finally active to play.
