Ed "Pi Double i" HendersonWorldWide Rams The Los Angeles Rams have released EDGE Rusher Ja'Von Rolland-Jones from their practice squad to add the rookie linebacker, Trevon Young. The Rams added Rolland-Jones earlier last month after releasing DE Marcus Martin and LB Carlos Thompson from the IR list opening up an additional roster spot.
Rolland-Jones went undrafted from the 2018 NFL Draft but signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent. He would not survive the cuts and been waiting for a call to resume his career. The former 2016 and 2017 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year, was a four-year starter at Arkansas State. His senior season along, he recorded 56 tackles (19 tackles for loss), 13 sacks, and three forced fumbles. His junior season his numbers were just about identical with adding two extra tackles for losses and added one more tackle than his senior year. The six foot two and 253-pound Rolland-Jones have been considered undersized but is a very disruptive pass rusher. He has excellent strength and is built to play in a 3-4 scheme as a standup or down in a stance effectively. Rams also activated rookie EDGE rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo from the PUP list on Monday, and indeed, the Rams are happy to see him active to play finally.
