Ed "Pi Double i" HendersonWorldWide Rams The New England Patriots in desired need for receiver help, have brought in former Los Angeles Rams receiver Nelson Spruce for a workout. The Rams released Nelson when the 53-man roster finalized as he became a casualty to a list filled with healthy receivers.
Nelson never seemed to stay healthy in his short two-year stint with the Rams, as he was injured again doing preseason play. Nelson became an immediate fan favorite in Los Angeles from one very game against the Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams played in front of 100,000 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Nelson caught a few passes to help the Rams rally back to beat the Cowboys. Injuries to their receivers have decimated the Patriots, Julian Edelman tore his ACL in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Danny Amendola was inactive for the Patriots on Sunday against New Orleans Saints because of a concussion, and Malcolm Mitchell is out until week ten because of an undisclosed knee injury. Including to the injury bug, Rob Gronkowski is also nursing a groin pull he sustained against the Saints. Spruces workout with the Patriots brings a sour taste to most Ram fans as they cringe at the sound of Tom Brady, Bill Belichick or New England Patriot. The talent level Spruce posses, and the Patriots sign him, barring an injury, Brady passing game will be for the elite. Wishing Spruce all the luck, but, if he signs with the Patriots, it will become love and hate relationship.
