Ed "Pi Double i" HendersonWorldWide Rams The Los Angeles Rams have activated rookie edge rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo from the PUP list. Okoronkwo who suffered a broken foot during OTA's (organized team activities) required surgery. Rams were optimistic that he would be a go after the pre-season; however, his foot wasn't responding accurately. The team had 21 days to activate him to the active roster from the PUP list and made certain he was good to go.
The Rams selected Okoronkwo in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft from the University of Oklahoma. He's an undersized pass rusher, with extremely explosive speed from the edge. He terrorized quarterback in the Big-12 with 20 career sacks and 33 tackles for losses. The Rams couldn't find a better time with activating Okoronkwo as their defense still hasn't applied much pressure on the offense. He's almost the epitome of in stature of Von Miller of the Denver Broncos and can have the same effect as Miller as well. The Rams added EDGE rusher Dante Fowler Jr. via trade to help bolster up their defense. Combining Fowler provides the Rams with a dominant pass rush from both outsides position with Samson Ebukam. Rookie Okoronkwo also provides additional depth at the linebacker, and the Rams become more hair-raising on defense. In a corresponding move, the Rams released their sixth round draft selection Trevon Young from the University of Louisville to make room for Okoronkwo on the active roster.
