Rams Places WR Mike Thomas On IR

The Los Angeles Rams have placed their reserved wide-receiver Mike Thomas on the injured reserved list. Thomas injured himself in the Rams Monday Night Football opener against the Oakland Raiders at the Oakland Coliseum.
Reportedly after the game, the training staff disclosed that Thomas injury would require a significant amount of time to heal. In addition to Thomas, Rams also lost their 2018 Pro Bowl special team player Pharoh Cooper, who too placed on IR because of a severe ankle injury.
Thomas injury appeared to more severe than initially diagnosed forcing the team to place him on the IR. The Rams will have eligibility for Thomas return to the roster in eight weeks to the discretion of the team.
Thomas placement on IR created space on the roster spot for the Rams could sign and add kicker Sam Ficken. Ficken will replace Greg Zuerlein who injured his groin during the pre-game warm-up in their home opener against the Arizona Cardinals.
