Ed "Pi Double i" HendersonWorldWide Rams The Los Angeles Rams waive defensive back Kevin Peterson this afternoon in efforts to place recently added Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, Brandon Allen. Peterson becomes the second rookie undrafted free agent to make the Rams original 53-man roster and fourth player overall to be waived in recent days.
Rams added offensive linemen J.J. Dielman, Aaron Neary, and defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson as waiver claims yesterday and added Allen this morning. Also released were Johnny Mundt, Louis Trinca-Pasat, and Nic Grigsby. Trinca-Pasat was resigned to the teams practice squad this afternoon after he cleared and the Rams released wide-receiver Nelson Spruce with an injury settlement. Peterson played well in a crowded defensive backfield, where the talent was so competitive, the Rams were willing to deal E.J. Gaines to the Buffalo Bills for wide-receiver Sammy Watkins. Peterson was a good corner that had the ability to play press coverage, something that Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips expected in his defense. Another bright spot of Peterson, he was never shy to come and hit and tackle. I'm optimistic that Peterson is able to clear waivers and be back with the team's practice squad in the upcoming weeks. He is definitely an added piece to our defense in the weeks to come.

Brandon Allen wasn't an undrafted free agent. He was drafted last year by the Jags.
